Long-Arm Quilters

Long-Arm Quilters Pick-Up Here

There are several Long-Arm Quilter vendors that pick up from our shop.

You normally have to do the following to prepare your quilt:

If you know the specific vendor you want to use, use their instructions for preparation.

Remember, they aren’t miracle workers - problems with your quilt etc. won’t disappear once it is quilted.

Leave a minimum of 4 inches of extra backing fabric and batting on all four sides. For instance, if your quilt top is 68” wide, you would have the backing at least 76” wide. The same way for the height. Individual long-arm quilters may have differing requirements.

Have your batting to send - you can call ahead to our shop if you want to purchase the batting here, to be sure we have it in stock and we can set it aside for you if you are on your way. If you know a specific long-arm quilter has batting available, make sure and what the cost is so you won’t be surprised.

We recommend you do not bring your quilt in a trash bag. Try to put it in a clear bag if possible. In either case, it would be good to use clear packing tape to tape a label on both sides of the bag with your name and phone number on it. That will help in the event your quilt gets separated from the instructions, and to prevent your quilt from getting lost.

There will be forms to fill out here at the shop.

You can pick out the pattern you desire your quilt to be quilted in. Each vendor has their own designs, and most have a sample book here to pick from.

Unless the vendor has other guidelines, you normally pay for the quilting after it comes back. They will include an invoice with an envelope for your return payment.
